Who can compete in tournaments?

Tournaments are generally open to ANYONE!

Whether you're a 6-year-old first time builder or a seasoned Battlebots veteran, the community will be happy to have you! You do NOT have to be an engineer or come with a perfectly destructive bot - you can even compete with a kit!

Find a tournament near you at robotcombatevents.com.

What resources does The RoboDome have for builders?

As builders ourselves, we are committed to supporting the local builder community and beyond!

Currently, we sponsor several local builder teams, as well as offer sponsorships for tournaments around the nation. We will soon have kits and parts available online for sale for new and experienced builders.

When our location opens, we will have:

  • Dedicated testing boxes available at no cost
  • Regular open builder hours to have a dedicated time and space to build together
  • Kids-only tournaments and beginners-only tournaments
  • Beginner and advanced topic classes

And more! Stay tuned for our official launch in a few months.

How do I get started in combat robotics?

We highly recommend starting by building a kit! This is a good wiki featuring available kits for popular weight classes: robotcombatwiki.com

Kits are a great starting point as they can be modified practically indefinitely. You can customize your destruction level, change out any parts, and personalize your bot. We will be coming out with our own beginner's kit soon!

Once you build your first bot, find a tournament near you to compete in! This site hosts global tournament registrations: robotcombatevents.com
